Sing, My Child is In Medio’s fourth annual High School Choir Invitational, featuring high school choirs from around Oregon alongside In Medio singers. Our mission involves supporting young singers and showing them how choral music can be part of their lives. Each of the high school choirs will be directed by their own teachers, some of whom are members of In Medio. It’s an evening of diverse repertoire and opportunities for growth, inspiration, and mentorship for the students and directors alike.
In Medio joins professional vocal ensemble Cappella Romana to form a choir of over 40 singers to perform Ivan Moody’s powerful oratorio Passion and Resurrection. The oratorio combines English cantillation of Holy Week’s drama with soul-stirring Orthodox hymns sung in Slavonic, Greek, and English, all accompanied by a string quartet and bells played by our friends in 45th Parallel Universe.

In Medio concludes our season with American composer Randall Thompson’s The Peaceable Kingdom and a newly written triptych by local composer Judy Rose. Thompson’s monumental work depicts the powers of good versus evil, while Rose’s works will take the audience on a journey of darkness to light. As we bid our supporters farewell for the summer, we give them a new song, and gladness of heart!
